The impetus for ‘Little Boy’ series of statuettes started after a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Viewing the information presented there I realised just how skewed my knowledge of the events of the 8th of August 1945 was. With this work(s) I wanted to question the way that we process visual information. The Little Boys seek to illicit a positive response from the viewer by hiding their dark truth behind mundane surface decoration, providing an analogy to what Slavo Žižek would call our subconscious ideological bias.
